In my asynchronous piano lessons, students submit recordings of themselves completing the assignments. I then provide personalised feedback in the form of a video and accompanying lesson notes.
During these personalised piano lessons, I can edit a copy of your sheet music and provide demonstrations, tips, and tasks to complete over the week.
For complete beginners and certain scenarios, I may initiate the video exchange.
To create these videos, I use OBS (video recording software), two 4K cameras, one HD camera and a professional microphone, ensuring every aspect of the lesson is of high quality.
I also use a stream deck, allowing me to quickly switch between camera angles to demonstrate techniques like pedalling.
Multiple camera angles also make it easier to illustrate the most efficient gestures, helping eliminate any technique issues.
In addition, by sharing the sheet music from my iPad in real-time, I can provide valuable suggestions regarding fingering, dynamics, and tone balance.
These lessons can be used for whatever you wish to work on. For example, for students that have regular lessons, the video may consist of them completing the tasks from the previous lesson, or if it is a one-off lesson, you may just want some feedback on your playing, or help with a specific piece.
The choice is yours!
